Social Welfare

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. cured many racial inequalities in the body of law that compromises the US Judicial System by effecting change with a nonviolent political movement.

The level of change that Dr. King was unable to effect prior to his death is that of changing the fundamental economic structure of a capitalist system that actually fuels racial and class tensions, both domestically and internationally: Poverty.

Via my charity transaction platform I enable the 85% of the American public that live above the poverty line a DIRECT opportunity to apply their disposable income to the basic social welfare needs of the 15% of Americans that lives below the poverty line... starting with children in need first.

This means that roughly 255 million American 'Haves' will now be able to provide social welfare support for 45 million Americans 'Have-Nots' that live at or below the poverty line because of the core cause of poverty: Structural Unemployment.

In 2006 exactly 44 million Americans applied for some form of social welfare benefit from the government. (MSNBC.com) 44 million just happens to be the high-end estimated percentage for structurally unemployed persons within a capitalist system with a population of 300 million people. Coincidence or Economic Law?

In opposition to Keynesian economic doctrine that would have recommended the government budget enough or our tax dollars to maintain proper social welfare standards and services for the 15% of the American population that are perpetually structurally unemployed during periods of economic expansion to assist them in avoiding the perils of poverty such as violent crime, child mortality, and the spread of infectious disease, our elected officials chose to slash public access to social welfare programs.

The decision to remove access to social welfare programs that served millions of Americans has resulted in explosive growth in prison populations across the nation, violent crime being at a 5-year high, increasing HIV rates in poor areas of the country, and increased sexual exploitation of women.

I pose a simple question for the American and international public:

If given the choice would you personally direct your tax dollars towards:

a.) providing healthcare, hot meals, and warm housing for children,

or

b.) war

Its a simple questions that our elected officials do not seem to understand.

Via the Poverty's Demise .Org charity transaction platform the individuals of this nation and many others will gain the power to develop and administer their own social welfare programs via the Internet.
